The resource recovery field takes a leap forward with the successful joining together of the two leading methods of oil-water separation into one composite system. The 400% increase in flow-thru capability resulting from joining the highly efficient, patented Voraxial Separator with a conventional centrifuge results in an oil separator system more effective than any other in the market today.

Disposal of waste oil-water mixtures is a pervasive environmental and cost problem for all types of industrial manufacturers and transportation companies (railroads, trucking and shipping companies). The industrial oil water separation and recovery market has, until now, focused on the centrifuge as the state-of-the-art for effectiveness of separation. However, the cost of centrifuge separation is very high in its capital investment as well as ongoing operations and maintenance costs.

The Voraxial Composite Separator changes the entire approach to the separation marketplace. The size and relative cost of a centrifuge is directly related to the quantity of oil-water waste to be treated during a specific time period, e.g. 100 gpm or 400 gpm. The concentration of the contamination has much less impact on the cost of the centrifuge installation, regardless of whether the oil contamination is 1,000 ppm or 5,000 ppm.

By engineering a new separation system combining the Voraxial Separator with a centrifuge, EVTN has created an immensely efficient separation system at substantial capital and operating cost savings. As the contaminated fluid enters the system, the Voraxial Separator immediately separates over 85% of the water (< 5 ppm oil), leaving the centrifuge to separate less than 15% of the contaminated fluid. Accordingly, the size of the centrifuge component for a separation system with this design flow is reduced substantially while producing the same results – clean water and concentrated oil recovery – yielding 33% reduction in separation costs for our customers.
